MedNet was formed with the idea that quality medical and utilization reviews
should be routine and not happenstance. From this basis, abusive, excessive and
outright fraudulent claims should be scrutinized and challenged, if necessary.
MedNet is staffed by medical professionals with years of clinical and
administrative experience who understand the needs of our clients. This staff
is also well seasoned in evaluating the credentials of clinicians and
practitioners who seek to provide reviews and examinations. MedNet has a
national network of practicing medical professionals and over 17,000 facilities
to provide services in the US and Canada.
The principal staff at MedNet has professional degrees in (MD, JD, RN, BSN,
PA-C, DC, and ATC) that develop the credentialing criteria for all staff and /
or consultants. MedNet requires board certification, current state license (in
good standing) and existing practice in the required specialty under
consideration. These individual experts must operate and adhere to guidelines
set forth by their peers as well as insurance standards. All reports are
reviewed by this principle staff before release to our clients to ensure
quality and completeness.
Our retrospective reviews are forwarded to qualified and experienced reviewers,
who provide ethical opinions and reports based on their clinical experience and
expertise. Each case is considered on its own merit, recognition that each
medical condition is unique and some variability is to be expected. Proprietary
documents are utilized to provide guidelines as to the anticipated medical
treatment and expected charges, yet the experience and judgment of the
individual reviewer substantiate the opinions expressed in our reports.
Services are not recommended for reimbursement if causality is not
apparent. Medical necessity is not evident or assignability under the
terms of the applicable insurance policy is in question. Various degrees of
computer automation and effectiveness criteria are part of that quality
assurance review process for maintenance of quality of care standards.
